Hello, I am software developer Wonjohn Choi.

The left picture is the completed java game “Fill Thirty Six.”

What is happening in the game is that green pieces are the currently selected piece by the current player.

There are two players (RED and BLACK). When a turn finishes, the player playing clicked “End Turn” button and the green pieces change color to red or black depends on the player.

But the colors are not important since they are just added to make the game interesting/fancy.

In developing the game, I used a frame that holds the whole application.

The frame holds two “JPanel”s: one panel is the part where “End Button” is located and the other is the part where 6*6 buttons are held.

ActionListener interface was added to each buttons to react when users click the button.

Also, when one tries to put more than 7 checkers at a turn or tries not to put any checker, an alert message pops up to prevent the illegal move.

When the last button is filled with a checker, game ends.

We are planning to put other events such as traps or bonus turns in future.

[Requirement] Fill Thirty Six

Hello, I am a software developer Wonjohn Choi.
Finally, we came up with an original game “Fill Thirty Six.”
It is a simple board game, but I require users to think carefully to find the winning strategy.
Game Rule:
  1. There are 36 blanks you can put checkers
  2. For each turn, one can put 1~7 checkers.
  3. The one who puts the last checker loses the game.
Here is the general information.
  • Requirement: Develop the game to the the extent to which two players can play “Fill Thirty Six” against each other. Graphic Interface will be implemented. There will be no AI (Artificial Intelligence) since this game is really straight forward to find the winning strategy.
